Invisible braces

At The Brace Place we want our patients to enjoy their orthodontic experience.  For most of our patients, their journey to a straighter, healthier smile takes between 18 and 24 months. That’s a long time not to have fun.

That is why one of the treatment options we provide at The Brace Place is Invisalign. These virtually invisible aligners are so discreet no one will know you’re having treatment, so you can continue life as normal, even while having treatment.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners have revolutionised the practice of orthodontics. Instead of braces, Invisalign offers an alternative which uses sets of thin, clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth. These aligners look like sports mouthguards, only they’re not as big.

The aligners are custom-made to your mouth and can be removed for eating, brushing, flossing, playing sports or musical instruments, or for important occasions, such as a first date or a family meeting. This means, not only are they comfortable to wear, they’re convenient too.

How does Invisalign work?

If you are receiving Invisalign treatment, you’ll be given a series of aligners throughout your treatment journey. Every two weeks you need to change the set of aligners you are wearing for the next set in the series. The aligners have been custom-made using 3D technology which plans and tracks the movement of your teeth. This means every set of aligners is slightly different because it is encouraging your teeth to move into a straighter position.

At each appointment you have with us, we’ll give you a few sets at a time so you only need to come in and see us once every six to eight weeks.

Invisalign patients

Invisalign is suitable for most patients requiring orthodontic treatment. At The Brace Place, Mr Atherton  has developed extensive expertise with Invisalign which means he can treat most patients with this technique. Lesser experienced orthodontists will only be able to treat milder cases with Invisalign.

Many adult patients choose to have Invisalign treatment because it is so discreet. They can go through a whole treatment journey without anyone knowing they’re wearing the aligners in the first place. Invisalign is also popular among our teenage patients as there’s a specific version just for them.

Types of Invisalign

At The Brace Place, we offer four different types of Invisalign:

  • Invisalign Full: for major orthodontic cases requiring treatment over a period of 18 to 24 months.
  • Invisalign Teen: for teenage patients who don’t want to feel self-conscious about wearing braces.
  • Invisalign Lite: for minor orthodontic problems affecting the front six teeth. Results can be achieved in as little as six months.
  • Invisalign i7: another version of Invisalign’s fast treatment options, Invisalign i7 can straighten the front six teeth in as little as three months.

Benefits of Invisalign

Here are some of the reasons why our patients have chosen to wear Invisalign:

  • It’s the most discreet treatment option around
  • It’s convenient because you can remove the aligners to eat, brush and floss
  • The aligners are just as effective at straightening teeth as traditional metal braces
  • There’s a version just for teens so they don’t have to worry about what they’ll look like with braces
  • The treatment works more quickly than other orthodontic methods so you can get straight teeth and a beautiful looking smile faster
