Having braces is one thing I do not regret having.  Before I had them I used to have two fang teeth sticking out of the top of my mouth, especially when I smiled. This made me a lot more conscious how I smiled.

When you've got the braces on, you feel like you've had them forever.  The only bad things were probably the little things like the toothache or food getting stuck in the brace, but they aren't things that really bother you.

I'm so glad now, my teeth look so different and new - they're so staright and white, it's definitely something to be proud of.

For many years I was unhappy about my top and lower front teeth.  They were very crooked - they didn't look good and they were difficult to clean, as my hygienist told me at regular intervals.

As I entered my 50's I believed I was too old to do anything about it.  That was until I met someone who was using Invisalign and I got such a positive response from my dentist, who definitely didn't want to file down (or 'destroy' in his words) perfectly healthy teeth to put caps on.

When I first came to see Mr Atherton smiling was something I didn't do often.  Even though I didn't think my teeth were that bad, a comment from my granddad made me change my mind. 

At first I was scared that it would hurt having braces, that I would look ugly and people would laugh at me but with a choice of coloured bands the braces looked really cool.

12 months flew by and it was time to take the braces off.  I was so excited when Mr Atherton handed me the mirror to have a look at my new teeth for the first time.  I smiled once and that was it - I just couldn't stop!

I am a naturally smiley person by nature, and thanks to my braces I just can't stop smiling.  Everyone has remarked how nice my teeth look.

 At first I was slightly apprehensive about wearing a brace.  Despite the initial discomfort I soon got used to them, and it actually seems quite strange now to look in the mirror and not see them!

The team at the Brace Place are really top notch.  They were really accommodating, scheduling appointments around my hectic A-level timetable.  I was always made to feel very welcome and looked after.
